Watch the Wilshire Grand get its spire, making it the tallest building in Los Angeles, by Will Weber
First Look at 700 ManhattanSeven-story development to rise one block south of Wilshire/Western Station.
Completed in spring 2016, K2LA at 685 New Hampshire is the second phase of Century West Partners’ K2LA development. Located in Los Angeles, K2LA is a three-building, work-live-play urban development project. The three buildings consist of a combined 478 units of luxury multifamily apartments with amenities such as fitness centers, business centers, rooftop spas and outdoor decks with grilling areas. For 685 New Hampshire, Century West Partners turned to DFH Architects and partners David Hibbert and James Fischer for the integrative design of the facility.
Leafs from an Architect's Journal
My phone rang one morning last October with a fuzzy call from a management company in London: an international retailer needed a California architect. It became clear enough through the static to understand that a UK-based perfume company was working on their American rollout. It sounded like it could be fun, with high-end details and a fast schedule. A few days later I was uber-ing to a meeting in the lobby of a boutique hotel in Beverly Hills, just around the corner from their in-construction store on Rodeo Drive.
A new mixed-use development with (89) apartment units over one level of subterranean parking to be built under the city’s new AUD program, ordinance, that is meant to provide more affordable, “market rate” housing to Santa Barbara residents. The lot size is 61,802 square foot, of which 100% will be developed. Level one includes commercial spaces, fitness room, and pool deck.
